Hey there, I'm Shannon!
I grew up in New England, Methuen, Massachusetts, to be exact. When I was 14, my dad started his own business. I started working there after school and found out young that I loved marketing.
Throughout high school (when I wasn't trying a new hairstyle), I interned for The Syndicate, an independent entertainment marketing agency. I was given free concert tickets in exchange for doing marketing research at shows. My loving mother usually brought me, and we had a blast rocking out at 100+ concerts together (Skybombers she loved, Atreyu not so much).
For college, I attended Southern New Hampshire University as part of the 3-Year Honors Business Program. During my senior year, I lived out a dream working as a radio personality at Rock 101.
SNHU also offered me a fantastic opportunity to participate in a "Rock The Intern" program at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. I helped out behind the scenes and backstage for Seether's Rise Above Fest. I was part of a small group of students who interviewed the band about the festival, which raises awareness for suicide prevention and mental illness.
In 2014, I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing. I set off into the real world, where I held various marketing jobs for large corporations. I traveled to Austria, Chicago, the U.K., NYC, and Spain as a field marketer. When I wasn't in the office or at trade shows, I took my camera and explored.
Feeling that one degree wasn't enough, I went back to SNHU and completed my MBA in 2018.
Despite being told MANY times to put my camera down and "enjoy the moment," I couldn't shake this feeling that photography was more than just a hobby. The same creative energy that draws me towards concerts and marketing drives my passion for snapping pictures.
Snapped By Shan is my chance to share my love of concerts, marketing, graphic design, travel, and photography with the world. I hope to inspire and encourage you to follow your passions. Frosty and I are glad to have you along for the journey!
